In my house in the battle between textiles and paper, wherever possible fabric wins and so I usually wrap gifts in fabric, furoshiki style. When the birthday girl is having a Studio Ghibli inspired party the temptation to make the gifts into decor was too tempting to resist.

So this year, the Creative Director is receiving a collection of Totoro's as her birthday wrapping (her real presents are inside). The fabric took a while to make, customising each Totoro to the size of the gift. It was then a simple matter of wrapping and knotting (how to here).
